In a bid to enhance staff performance and foster a more collaborative work, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Adijat Adeleye, has stressed the importance of dedication, open communication and professionalism for effective service delivery.
Speaking during an interactive meeting with staff, at the Oba’s Complex, Oke-mosan, Abeokuta, Hon. Adeleye urged staff of the Ministry to take their duties seriously and provide needed humanitarian and social welfare services in the discharge of duties.
She reiterated the state government’s commitment to prioritise staff welfare, acknowledging that a motivated workforce was key to achieving success.
The Commissioner underscored the need to eradicate sharp practices, citing discipline as a core value with a zero-tolerance policy for misconduct.
She encouraged constructive criticism, emphasising its role in fostering openness and continuous improvement.
Contributing, Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Affairs, Chief (Mrs.) Ayotunde Lawal, highlighted transparency, teamwork, effective communication, work ethics, leadership by example and feedback, as essential guidelines to enhance productivity and success.
“I want to implore everyone of us to be transparent in the discharge of our duties; have the spirit of teamwork, be committed, ensure good communication and most importantly, feedback, in order to discharge our duties more efficiently and effectively”, she said.
Earlier, Permanent Secretary in the Minisyry, Mrs. Adejumoke Adewole, explained that the meeting was to enhance staff performance and foster a more collaborative working environment, urging staffers to see the platform as an avenue to share any challenges being encountered in the discharge of their duties, to proffer solutions to them.
She charged them to adhere to professional dress code to workplace, as ambassadors of the Ministry, saying the Public Service Rules should be strictly adhered to.
Appreciating the Management for the opportunity to bare their minds and present their challenges, Mr. Oladipupo Lateef and Mrs. Morenokeji Ofor, on behalf of other members of staff, promised to utilise knowledge gained at their duty posts for better output.
