Civil Servants have been enjoined to always emulate a good character and attitude while at work and after retirement to engender positive rewards.
The Chairman, Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board, (SUBEB), Dr. Femi Majekodunmi, gave the advice during a retirement programme, in honour of Princess Mosunmola Awolesi, who was the Head of Supply Unit, at SUBEB’s Conference Hall, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Dr. Majekodunmi noted that it pays to be diligent and transparent, while in service, adding that such virtues would not go unnoticed or be recognised by people later in life.
He enjoined others to emulate the good work of the retiree, as she had immensely contributed to the progress and success of the Board.
Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Dr. Mikhail Adebola, described the celebrant as an epitome of humility, dutiful and passionate with her job, urging the civil servants to always demonstrate work ethics while on duty.
Speaking on behalf of other directors, the Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics, Prince Olabode Olusoga, described the retiree’s behaviour as exemplary and worthy of emulation, saying she had left an indelible mark in the Civil Service.
Earlier, the Head of Procurement Unit, Mr. Oluwasegun Ojekunle, pointed out that the celebrant played a vital role in fostering a good relationship that exists between the Procurement and Supply Units, which cannot be overemphasised.
Mr. Ojekunle, who attributed the success being recorded by the celebrant to her unwavering dedication, professional excellence and noble heritage, which had continued to be an inspiration to many, reflecting a legacy of service, education, and leadership.
Responding, the retiree, Princess Awolesi, appreciated the management and staff of the Board for their support, saying the good moments and love that exist among them would always be remembered.
