OGUN LG COLLABORATES WITH POLICE TO STRENGTHEN GRASSROOTS SECURITY

Yewa North Local Government Area has collaborated with the Nigeria Police Force, towards achieving a wider security network for adequate protection of lives and property at the grassroots.

The Chairman of the Council, Dr. Olusola Akinbode, said this, while presenting a set of generator to the Police Area Command in Ayetoro, saying the gesture was aimed at boosting the operations system, as adequate provision of security remains top priority of the present administration in order to achieve desired socio-economic development.

Dr. Akinbode acknowledged the leadership qualities of Governor Dapo Abiodun in the area of provision of security vehicles, gadgets, among others to security agencies in the state, saying these efforts serve as model for all Local Governments in the state to emulate, pledging his support for the Governor’s vision for zero tolerance for insecurity.

The Chairman noted that it was imperative for the Council to collaborate with Nigeria Police Force to collectively tackle security challenges, such as the incessant herder-farmers conflict, communal clashes over lands, influx of illegal migrants, among others. He appreciated the Area Commandant of Police, ACP, Lawrence Iwodi for his efforts in maintaining a crime-free environment, appealing for water tight security-operations throughout the year, particularly during the yuletide and new year festivities.

In his response, the Area Commandant applauded the Council chairman for his kind gesture towards supporting the Command, promising that the police would continue to tackle crimes and criminalities with the support of other security agencies in the area.

Iwodi assured that, the Command would not relent in providing the needed security for lives and property during and after the forthcoming festivities in the area.
