Management and staff of Ogun State Ministry of Information and Strategy have been charged to have positive mindsets in the discharge of their duties for effective service delivery in the new year.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Waheed Adesina gave the charge during the 2025 New Year Prayer session of the agency, at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, encouraging officers to put in their best, so as to be productive as government Public Relation Officers.
Mr. Adesina emphasised the managements readiness, to provide enabling environment for officers to thrive, noting that year 2025 was the beginning of politicking and they must be alive to their responsibilities.
He admonished officers to priotise their health, ensure regular check-up, eat healthy, and keep fit at all times, stressing that they should always say the truth that would be beneficial to all and avoid rumour mongering.
“Always say the truth that will benefit others, stop spreading rumour, be ready and willing to change for good, so that God will do a new thing”, he said.
In his sermon, Mr. Luke Adebesin, took his sermon from Isaiah 43 verse 19, titled ‘I Will Do a New Thing’, he pointed out that, for God to do a new thing, officers must be ready to let go of their old ways and embrace new things, trust in God, take risk, cultivate a mindset of hope, set goals and pursue them.
On his part, Alfa Ibrahim Akinbode, while taking his sermon from Quran 56 verse 24 and Quran 5 verse 100, admonished officers to be self-disciplined.
He implored officers to be of good character, worship God, seek for more knowledge and be moderate in all endeavours, calling on officers to set clear goals for themselves in the year, practice self-control, be accountable and have positive mindset.
In her vote of thanks, Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Mrs. Toluwalope Kowo, appreciated God for the gift of life, urging officers to be steadfast, be up and doing and put in their best towards achieving their set objectives in the new year.
