UTILISATION OF AGRIC LAND PANACEA FOR DEVELOPMENT – COMMISSIONER

Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Bolu Owotomo says that utilisation of agricultural land will pave way for more development, improve livelihood and enhance food security.

Owotomo said this while speaking during a stakeholders’ meeting with the Olowo of Owo, Oba (Engr.) Abdul Mojeed Alao, at his Palace in Owo, Yewa South Local Government, explaining that adequate utilisation of agricultural land would facilitate more projects for development.

He noted that supporting the State government by bringing in more investors would be beneficial to the people, assuring that government was ready to proffer solutions to their challenges.

The Commissioner called for maximum cooperation of the indigenes to support investors, for them to feel their impact through their social responsibility, emphasising that their cooperation would help develop the area, create job opportunities, increase food security, among others.

In his remarks, Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr. Siraj Fashola appreciated the indigenes, adding that bringing more investors would provide services that would be of benefit to the community, advising them to visit the Ministry for assistance and clarification regarding land matters.

Speaking, Oba (Engr.) Alao commended the State government for always being supportive, appealing for more assistance by ensuring that all their needs are met.
