SUBEB CHARGES TEACHERS TO IMPROVE ON PERFORMANCE

The Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has charged teaching and Non-teaching staff in the state to improve their performance and strive for academic excellence.

The Board Secretary of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Mikhail Lawal gave this charge during a promotion exercise at Yewa North Primary School, Ayetoro, Yewa North Local Government Area.

Lawal emphasised the need for teachers to reciprocate the state government’s investment in their welfare by delivering high-quality education.

He said, “this exercise is telling you to prepare and improve on your performance, to be more conscious of your duties, more contentious in discharging of your duties, so that God’s blessings can be on the earnings you are receiving from the government and on this promotion, you are getting”.

He commended Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration for prioritising teachers’ welfare, particularly in terms of salary enhancement.

In their separate responses, Mrs. Olubunmi Amosun of Yewa North Primary School, Ayetoro, and Mr. Odunayo Osomo of Y.A LG Primary School in Ipokia Local Government, appreciated the State government’s efforts to improve their working conditions and pledged to strive for excellence in their duties.

Other centres visited were; Imo Methodist Primary School, Oke-Yeke, Owu African Church Primary School, Ita Iyalode in Abeokuta, Yewa College and Christ Church Primary School, Akiniku, Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government, among others.
