GOV. ABIODUN CHARGES MONARCH TO CHAMPION DEVELOPMENTAL LEADERSHIP

A coronet Oba in the Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area of the State has been charged to uphold communal peace and offer developmental leadership to the people.

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun made this charge at the installation of Oba Jimoh Adebayo as the first Olu of Imedu-Nla in Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area of the State.

The Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, noted that the throne was a sensitive one which demands good sense of judgement, character and the capacity to promote peace.

“Today’s installation is an attestation of the State government’s commitment to peace and tranquility at the local level, hence this installation at Imedu-Nla. We commend Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, for the role played towards the appointment of Oba Jimoh Adebayo”, he said.

In his goodwill message, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, represented by Prince Adeoye Gbadebo, urged the people to rally round the king for a peaceful and productive reign.

Earlier, Chairman, Obafemi/Owode Local Government, Hon. Adesina Ogunsola, said due diligence was made on the part of the State government before the emergence of Olu Imedu-Nla, congratulating him for the feat achieved and called on the sons and daughters of the community to work in harmony.

Oba Jimoh Adebayo, in his acceptance speech, thanked the State government for his upgrade from Baale to an Oba, promising to sustain the quality leadership he offered as a Baale, promote peace and development in Imedu-Nla.

He called on the people to join hands with him, adding that the peace and tranquility of Imedu-Nla remained his priority.
