Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has tasked the first Coronet Oba in Oko-Eiye, Oba John Fadoungbo to utilise his position to drive development to the community.
Governor Abiodun gave the charge at the installation and Presentation of Staff of Office to the new Oloko-Eiye of Oko-Eiye in Ipokia Local Government Area of the State.
Represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, the Governor noted that the monarch’s appointment was a call to serve his people, calling on him to champion all efforts that would further enhance peaceful co-existence with neigbhouring communities.
Remarking, the Chairman, Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Johnson Akohome, lauded the Governor’s benevolence at upgrading the Baaleship stool of Oko-Eiye to a coronet obaship stool.
He enjoined the citizens to cooperate with the monarch to bring good development to the community, while urging the Oloko-Eiye to partner with the present administration to move the state to the next level.
In his acceptance speech, Oba Fadoungbo expressed gratitude to the Governor for his unwavering support, pledging to commit and concentrate all necessary efforts to achieve greatness of Oko-Eiye land, Ipokia Local Government and the State at large.
In the same vein, Governor Abiodun has installed Oba Isaac Akinlolu as the new Onimede of Mede Ogosa and Ajegunle in Ipokia Local Government Area of the State.
Represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, Governor Abiodun described the installation and presentation of the staff of office to the new monarch as a momentous event in the history of Mede Ogosa and Ajegunle communities.
He emphasised that the speedy development of Mede Ogosa and Ajegunle depends on the peace and unity of the communities, urging the people to prioritise enhancing their potentials to fast-track economic growth.
In his acceptance speech, Oba Akinlolu thanked the State government for upgrading Mede Ogosa and Ajegunle land to a traditional stool.
He promised to lead, administer the affairs of the people and promote the rich cultural heritage of the land.
