Governor Abiodun has underscored the importance of the partnership between the government and traditional institutions as vital to the growth and development of the State.
The Governor made this known at the Installation and Presentation of the Staff of Office to the new Onilisa of Lisa, Oba Oladele Odugbemi, in Ifo Local Government.
Represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, the Governor said the presentation of the staff of office to the Monarch symbolises not only authority and responsibility, but also unity, progress, and cultural pride that bind the people together.
“We realise the fact that traditional institutions and their leadership must be properly positioned, as it serves as a bridge between the people at the grassroots and the government,” he said.
Speaking, the Chairman of Ifo Local Government, Hon. Olamilekan Kusimo, congratulated the Monarch for his resilience and dedication to the growth of the community.
He noted that meaningful development can only take place in an atmosphere devoid of rancor and trouble, praying that the Monarch’s reign would be marked by wisdom, strength, and abundant blessings.
Oba Odugbemi, in his acceptance address, expressed gratitude to the Governor for deeming him fit for the exalted position, pledging his unwavering commitment to the upliftment and development of Lisa and its inhabitants.
