In an effort at providing relief and cushion effect of the present economic challenge on citizenry especially during the Easter festivity, the Ogun State Government has magnanimously distributed bags of rice to Christian faithful’s across the State.
Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Cabinet and Special Services, Mr. Olanrewaju Saka, while monitoring the distribution of the palliatives at the Cathedral of St. Peter Ake, Abeokuta, said since the social well-being of citizens was part of the major focus of the Prince Dapo Abiodun’s-led Administration, to make this year Easter celebration memorable.
” This distribution is taking place in several other churches today to ensure that Christians enjoy the Easter celebration just as it was done to the Muslim faithful during Ramadan,’’ he said.
Speaking, the Peoples Warden, Rev. Titus Ogunkola, described Dapo Abiodun, as the Governor of the masses, saying it came as pleasant surprise to us this morning being the Palm Sunday preceding Easter, we thank the government for having the people at heart, this will go a long way in relieving many homes who have thought this year Easter would be Celebrated in low key.
Responding on behalf of other members, Mr. Oluwaseyi Taiwo and Mrs. Funmilayo Adeyemi, appreciated the government for the good gesture at a time like this, praying that the Lord shall bless the present administration and make all its plan and objectives come to reality.
