The new Alapeje of Apeje has been installed as a Coronet Oba in Apeje Community towards promoting the socio-economic wellbeing of the people in Sagamu Local Government Area of the State.
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun while installing Oba Adebogun Odubeko enjoined him to work for the peaceful co-existence and development of the community, congratulating the people of Apeje community for the new Monarch.
Governor Abiodun, represented by the Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Rasak Daddah, said that the State Government would continue to appreciate invaluable roles being played by the traditional institutions, particularly at the grassroots.
“We consider today’s ceremony as one of our commitments and determination to position the traditional institutions, as they serve as a bridge between the people at the grassroots and the government. We won’t relent at upgrading deserving Chieftaincy stools,” he said.
Speaking, Akarigbo and Paramont Ruler of Remo land, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, represented by the Elepe of Epe, Oba Adewale Osiberu, enjoined the Monarch to serve the Kingdom and ensure peaceful co-existence among the people, noting that his installation was an affirmation of the State’s ownership and control over Apeje territory.
In his acceptance speech, Oba Adebogun Odubeko, appreciated the State Government for upgrading the stool from a Baale to that of an Oba. He thanked all stakeholders and called for their support towards growing and developing Apeje kingdom.
Highlight of the installation was the presentation of Staff and the Instruments of Office to the Oba.
Dignitaries at the event were the Eleposo of Eposo, Oba Mukaila Olabinjo and other Royal Fathers, Clerics, Chiefs, indigenes and inhabitants of Apeje land.
