OGHA COMMENDS STATE INFORMATION MINISTRY, OTHERS ON CITIZENS MOBILISATION

Members of the Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Culture and Tourism has applauded the Management teams of the State Ministry of Information and Strategy, State Television and the State Broadcasting Corporation for ensuring sustained citizens’ mobilisation and sensitisation on government laudable policies and programmes.

The commendation was given when the State media team led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Strategy, Mr. Kayode Akinmade, represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Waheed Adesina, appeared before the members of the State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Culture and Tourism chaired by Hon. Olusegun Kaka during the ongoing 2025 mid-year budget performance appraisal at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The lawmakers acknowledged the media team strategic information management efforts, saying it had continued to project policies and programmes of government positively.

They urged the agencies to deepen their media outreach for improved performance and strengthen internal structures to further consolidate on the existing achievements.

Earlier in his presentation, Mr. Akinmade assured the House Committee that the Ministry and its allied agencies would continue to adopt new communication strategies to engage citizens and promote government development-based policies.

On their parts, General Manager of OGTV, Mr. Tunde Kazeem and his OGBC counterpart, Mrs. Toyin Sogbesan, highlighted the various achievements of their agencies including 24 hours broadcasting on platforms such as DSTV, GOTV, Star Times and social media, the installation of street solar lights and the purchase of laptops to ease work as well as networking and digitisation of media operations among others.
