Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, has charged residents of Ewekoro Local Government Area in Ogun State to take responsibility for the maintenance of government facilities in their communities, emphasising that such stewardship is essential for sustainable growth and development.
Hon. Hamzat, gave this charge during the commissioning of a new block of two classrooms, an office, and a storage facility at Methodist Primary School in Abese-Arigbajo ward, as well as a newly constructed town hall in Mosan ward, highlighted the importance of proper care for public properties to prevent resource wastage.
“It is my pleasure to officially commission these projects, which have been made possible by the administration of Hon. Adesina Sikiru, Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government. These accomplishments reflect the responsiveness of the Governor Abiodun-led administration to the needs and aspirations of our people. I encourage everyone to continue supporting the government to reap further benefits,” he stated.
In his address, Chairman, Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Adesina Sikiru, said the school infrastructure would enhance learning experience for students, just as the town hall would serve as a resource for community engagement, while assuring the residents that with their support, more initiatives would be realised.
Earlier, the Olu of Itori, Oba (Dr.) Abdul-Fattah Akamo, extended his congratulations to the benefiting communities and commended Hon. Adesina for the achievements recorded so far.
Also, Olu of Wasimi, Oba Sufianu Jolaosho and the Ejio of Ejio, Oba Oluwasesan Ogunmuyiwa of Abese and Mosan communities respectively, appreciated the government for the infrastructures, promising to put them to good use as charged.
In attendance were; Member House of Rep. Ifo/Ewekoro Federal constituency, Hon. Ibrahim Isiaka, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, among others.
