OGSG CONTINUES PALLIATIVE ROAD MAINTENANCE

In continuation of providing good road network and ensuring safer driving for motorists, the Ogun State Government has commenced road maintenance works in some parts of the State capital.

The exercise, spearheaded by the Ogun State Public Works Agency (OGPWA), began with the cutting of failed portions and laying of stone base on key roads, including Oke-Ilewo, Panseke, and Abiola Way in Abeokuta.

According to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Works, Engr. Babatunde Adesina, ‘’the intervention marks the first phase of a broader programme designed to rehabilitate critical roads across the State. The maintenance works would also include asphalt overlay to restore smooth driving surfaces and ensure durability’’.

Engr. Adesina reiterated that road maintenance initiative reflected Governor Dapo Abiodun’s commitment to improving infrastructure, enhancing mobility, and reducing the hardship faced by road users, assuring that similar interventions would be extended to other parts of Ogun State, covering both urban and rural communities.

Residents and commuters have welcomed the move, expressing optimism that the ongoing works would ease traffic congestion, improve safety, and boost commercial activities in the metropolis, once completed.
