The State Government has assured motorists and residents that no community will be left behind in its ongoing road repairs and construction projects.
Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure in Ogun State, Engr. Ade Akinsanya, gave the assurance at Ota, during an inspection tour of some major road projects across the State, where he acknowledged the tough experiences faced by motorists, especially during the rainy season, as he promised that contractors would intensify work as the weather improves.
Engr. Akinsanya revealed that all the ongoing projects across the State would be completed to high standards that would ensure safety, durability and convenience, while appealing to motorists to exercise patience and be cautious around construction sites.
In an interview with some motorists during the inspection, a resident of Sango Ota, Funke Adeyemi, said completion of the Abeokuta–Sango Ota Road would ease her daily journey, while a commercial bus driver, Mr. Tunde Kareem, noted that good road network would reduce cost of vehicle maintenance and improve earnings.
Among the roads inspected were the Abeokuta–Sango Ota Road, Atan–Lusada–Agbara Road and Imasayi–Ayetoro Road that linked farmers and rural dwellers to the markets.
