The Jigawa State government has set aside N2bn for disaster response and the provision of relief materials across the state in the 2026 fiscal year.
The Executive Secretary of the Jigawa State Emergency Management Agency, Hannafi Yakubu, disclosed this in Dutse, the state capital, shortly after defending the agency’s budget before the House of Assembly Committee on Special Duties.
Yakubu said the allocation was approved by the state government.
He added that the agency would review the recommendations made by the committee to enhance its operations and improve response time.
