As part of efforts to ensure a successful and seamless operations of the Federal Government Renewed Hope ‘Conditional Cash Transfer’ programme in Ogun State, the State Unit has trained staff and Desk Officers in all 20 Local Governments areas on safety and security tips, as well as distribution of first aid boxes in order to prevent them from harm, injury and loss that may occur in the course of discharging their duties
In her opening remark, during the training at Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, the State’s Programme Manager, Mrs. Funmi Baker, said training of officers on safety and security measures were imperative to secure their well-being and ensure safety while on the field and in cases of emergency,
“This safety and security step-down training, is designed to sensitise and familiarise participants with measures required to prevent and tackle emergencies when discharging their duties”, she said.
Baker, advised them to deploy into operations the knowledge gathered at the workshop and be more security conscious of their environment in their various local areas.
Delivering his lecture, the facilitator, who is also the State Director of Fire and Safety Services, Mr. Fatai Adefala, represented by a top officer of the Corp, Mr. Victor Tejuoso, identified elements of fire to include: oxygen, heat and fuel, added that without combination of the elements, fire would not occur.
Adefala, while dwelling on the various type and usage of fire extinguishers and other safety tools as well as practical demonstration of domestic fire accident, admonished participants to call Fire safety hot line: 112 or 08144766200.
Responding, Akinleye Hanat, Abeokuta South, Adegbenro Taorid Oladele, Ijebu East and Ajanaku Deji Gideon, Ipokia, appreciated the facilitators and assured to cascade the knowledge gained to the grassroot.
