The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the appointment of DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi as the new Police Public Relations Officer for the Ogun State Police Command.
Babaseyi, who previously served as Deputy PPRO in Lagos, is a law graduate with an LL.B from the Nigeria Police Academy, a BL from the Nigerian Law School, and a Diploma in Law from Osun State University. He is also a member of the pioneer Regular Course 1 of the Police Academy.
His career spans several operational and administrative roles, including Divisional Crime Officer in Monatan and Kajorepo Divisions, and Officer-in-Charge of Ilaji and Lagelu Police Posts in Oyo State. He has led major investigations and coordinated crime-prevention efforts across various units.
Babaseyi’s operational experience includes serving as a Unit Commander with the 22 Police Mobile Force. In 2023, he trained at the Nigeria Army School of Special Forces in Buni Yadi and later joined joint military operations under Operation Hadin Kai in Yobe and Borno.
He also previously served as Deputy PPRO and Secretary to the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, strengthening his background in police administration and strategic communication.
