As part of its effort to sustain effectiveness and efficiency in its digital operations, the Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has trained Zonal Education Officers and Zonal Portal Administrators across the twenty Local Government Areas of the state on the Digital Platform for Education Revitalisation (DIPER).
The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, speaking during the capacity-building exercise at the Simeon Adebo Library in Abeokuta, stated that the session was a physical follow-up to an earlier virtual webinar designed for all stakeholders in the education sector.
Represented by the Director of Education (Planning, Research and Statistics), Mr. Olabode Adewale, Prof. Arigbabu enjoined participants to take the training seriously and ensure they become fully acquainted with the platform, urging them to seek clarification where necessary.
Addressing the participants, the founder of Edutam (the platform powering DIPER), Associate Professor Ademola Adenubi, explained that the enhanced digital platform was built on a robust framework capable of automating and digitising activities within both public and private schools. He added that the training would empower officers to effectively tackle challenges within the sector.
Appreciating the government for the initiative, participants including the Zonal Education Officer for Yewa North, Mr. Emmanuel Asegbe, and the Zonal Portal Administrator for Abeokuta South, Oluwabunmi Olojo, noted that the exercise has broadened their horizons and equipped them for the proficient use of the digital platform.
