The state leadership of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Ogun state chapter, on behalf of the state wing executive council members and by extension all gateway teachers have expressed gratitude to Governor Dapo Abiodun for what they call groundbreaking approval of grade level 17 for primary school teachers’ degree holders and approval of consolidated salary structure for the headteacher-general.
In a statement jointly signed by chairman, Comrade Sekawanu Noah Oladipupo and principal secretary Samson Oyelere, the decision is described as a masterstroke of visionary leadership, underscoring Governor Abiodun’s unwavering commitment to the advancement of education in Ogun state. They note that it has not only elevated the status of over fourteen thousand primary school teachers but has also rekindled the flame of passion and dedication in the hearts of educators across the state.
They further said the implications of this decision are far-reaching, with benefits accruing to the education sector, the state, and the nation at large adding that the upgrade in grade level will not only enhance the morale of primary school teachers but will also attract and retain top talents in the profession, ultimately leading to improved academic performance and a more educated citizenry. They assure the governor of an unwavering commitment of Ogun state teachers to his administration, future endeavors, and the development of the state’s educational sector saying his leadership has inspired a sense of hope and optimism among educators.
