TRACE unveils operational guidelines for Christmas and New Year special patrol

As part of measures to ensure effective traffic management and the free flow of traffic during the yuletide season, the Ogun state traffic compliance and enforcement agency has unveiled its operational guidelines for the Christmas and New Year special traffic operation. According to a statement issued from the office of the most senior TRACE officer, who also oversees the day-to-day administration and duty scheduling of the agency, Commander Elias Omonayajo Adedayo, the special operation will commence on monday, 22 december 2025, and run through monday, 5 january 2026.

The yuletide special patrol operation order will involve continuous monitoring of motorists and other road users, including both high- and low-capacity vehicles, in anticipation of increased human and vehicular movements during the festive period. The initiative is aimed at guaranteeing the safety of lives and property across 18 major traffic corridors in the state. The corridors include the Lagos-Ibadan expressway; Interchange–Sagamu–Ijebu-Ode–Benin/Ore expressway; Sango/Ota–Atan–Owode–Idiroko highway; Atan–Lusada–Agbara–Badagry highway; Abeokuta–Kobape–Siun–Interchange expressway; Abeokuta–Ewekoro–Ifo–Sango/Ota expressway; and Rounder–Abeokuta–Olorunda–Ayetoro–Imeko–Ilara border road, among others.
