The Ogun State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to prioritizing regular and sustained road maintenance across the State as part of efforts to ensure durable and efficient road infrastructure.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Works, Engr. Babatunde Adesina, made this known while outlining the administration’s infrastructure strategy, noting that routine road maintenance was a key pillar of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s development agenda.

Engr. Adesina explained that consistent maintenance of existing road networks was essential to extending their lifespan, thus, reducing the need for frequent major rehabilitation and improving safety for motorists and other road users.

He emphasised that proactive maintenance remained a more cost-effective and efficient approach than allowing roads to deteriorate before government intervention.

He further stated that the State government was committed to delivering value for money in all public works projects, adding that transparency, accountability and strict adherence to established engineering standards would guide all road maintenance activities.

The Special Adviser assured residents that the administration had remained focused on improving road infrastructure to support economic growth, ease transportation challenges and enhance the overall quality of life for the people of Ogun State.
