The Ogun State Housing Corporation has announced the temporary relocation of its headquarters office from the current premises along Ibara G.R.A road to the old Governor’s office, Oke Ilewo, Abeokuta, in order to facilitate the reconstruction of its existing office complex.
The General Manager of the Corporation, ESV Wale Ojo, disclosed this during the New year interdenominational prayer session organised by the Corporation, tagged; ‘’Board management timeout with staff’’ at its temporary headquarters in Abeokuta.
The Corporation’s Boss disclosed that its headquarters was moved to the old Governor’s office , which could not completely accommodate all the departments, as some departments were temporarily positioned to operate from another government building situated beside the Gateway Mortgage Bank.
ESV Wale Ojo, further said the relocation became necessary to ensure that reconstruction activities do not disrupt the Corporation’s operations across the state, while he commended the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration for approving the reconstruction of the Corporation’s headquarters, describing the existing structure as over five decades old and dilapidated.
He noted that the planned upgrade into a modern and sophisticated facility, alongside the approval for temporary relocation, would ensure seamless service delivery and set a new standard in the state’s housing sector.
According to him, the relocation processes were already underway, while the removal of old structures within the headquarters premises had commenced to pave the way for the construction of befitting office buildings.
Also speaking, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Hon. Yemi Adelani, allayed concerns among staff over the reconstruction exercise, assuring them that the management remained committed to their welfare.
Adelani said the reconstruction aligned with the core focus of the Prince Dapo Abiodun administration, which prioritises the provision of a conducive working environment and the welfare of workers. He emphasised that the State government understood the importance of improved working conditions for public servants and would take deliberate steps to achieve this.
The Board Chairman called on staff of the Corporation to reciprocate the gesture by remaining dedicated and committed to quality service delivery in the interest of the state’s development.
