Contrary to a viral video being circulated online that the old OPIC Estate, Warewa, known as BOFT Apartment, was abandoned and left in a dilapidated state, the Special Adviser and Managing Director, Ogun State Property and Investment Corporation (OPIC), Arc. Fari- Arole, has responded accordingly, clarifying the true state of things while speaking with Journalists in Abeokuta.
He said the OPIC Estate, Warewa happened to be one of OPIC’s oldest estate in the State, consisting of 3 blocks of semi-detached 2 bedroom bungalows, occupied by staff, adding that the age long estate was in a total state of abandonment until the present administration under the leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun who demolished the old structure and commenced the construction of a modern estate known as Boft Apartment which is under construction and consists of 3 blocks of 18 unit flats. The construction work commenced immediately after the demolition of the old structure to create a new serene environment that would meet the demand of modern times, thus, giving the entire neigbourhood a befitting facelift for those that would be occupying it.
Arc. Fari-Arole pointed out that after its completion, it would provide residents with access to essential amenities like road, water, drainages, electricity and sanitation, saying, it would also improve the quality of lives, while explaining further that it would attract businesses and stimulate economic growth as well as increase property value within the area.
The OPIC boss added that security measures would be put in place for the residents with a sense of safety and security after its completion, revealing also that the project would be completed in record time. He therefore advised residents and the general public to exercise patience and make necessary enquires in case of information that are deemed to be false.
