The Ogun State House of Assembly has lauded the management team of the State Ministry of Forestry, led by Engr. Taiwo Oludotun, for achieving over 85% in its revenue performance for the outgoing year.
The lawmakers charged the ministry to surpass this achievement in the next fiscal year to further boost the state’s economy through innovative and proactive revenue-generating initiatives.
Members of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, led by Hon. Musefiu Lamidi, gave the commendation during the ongoing 2026 Budget Defence at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
The committee also applauded the ministry for:
Reviving Moribund Reserves: Successfully restoring the forest reserves at Oja Odan.
Public-Private Partnerships (PPP): Utilizing strategic partnerships to focus on sustainable tree utilization.
Reforestation Efforts: Strengthening the state’s green cover through active replanting programs.
Engr. Taiwo Oludotun, the Commissioner for Forestry, noted during the session that the ministry remains committed to balancing revenue generation with environmental sustainability, ensuring that the state’s forest resources are preserved for future generations.
